Marc Sanderson is the first Director of International Economic Development for the City of Malaga, Spain. In 2009, the Mayor asked him to design, lead and manage the City’s foreign direct investment strategy. He works to promote Malaga’s international image, to provide “Soft Landing” and “Aftercare” services to arriving international companies and to support the overall economic development.
Formerly, Mr. Sanderson was the Chief of Staff to the United States Ambassador to Spain and lived in Madrid. Previously, he worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as an advisor to the Director of Citizenship and Immigration Services. From 1999 to 2002, Marc provided consulting services to multinational companies while working at Deloitte Consulting, a Global Management and Technology Consulting Firm. Mr. Sanderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas.
